Massachusetts’ Six Flags New England is offering free admission to its amusement park on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 with the donation of a musical instrument, as part of its inaugural “Play it Forward” event. Known as the Coaster Capital of New England, Six Flags will be partnering with the Community Music School of Springfield.
All donated instruments will go directly to the Community Music School of Springfield. The Community Music School will also provide free entertainment throughout the weekend for families to enjoy.
Instruments can be in working/gently used condition. Community Music School is willing to dust them off, retune and fix broken strings where necessary. Suggested Donations are guitars, trumpets, French horns, tubas, bassoons, oboes, flutes, violins, violas, cellos and electric pianos/keyboards. Pianos and organs will not be accepted by the Community School of Music due to logistical concerns.
Community Music School of Springfield, founded in 1983, is a non-profit community arts school in western Massachusetts. Its mission is to provide an equitable and inclusive center of excellence in music and arts education that empowers individuals, inspires creative passion and promotes well-being.
