Matt Kerns and Hallie Hugues, Yamaha Corp. of America

Yamaha Corp. of America’s (YCA) Band & Orchestral Division has announced the promotion of Matt Kerns to Marketing Manager, Accessories, along with the appointment of Hallie Hugues as Marketing Specialist.

Kerns brings 22 years’ music industry experience to his new role in B&O Accessories. Most recently, he served as Project Manager in YCA’s Customer Experience Group (CEG). Prior to his arrival at Yamaha, he worked in online marketing and institutional sales at Anaheim Band Instruments. He earned a bachelor of science degree at the University of Phoenix and is an alumnus of the Velvet Knights Drum & Bugle Corps.

Hugues joined Yamaha as an intern with CEG, where she conducted market and campaign research and supported digital marketing initiatives. She earned a bachelor of science degree at The State University of New York College at Potsdam, The Crane School of Music, with concentrations in music business and vocal performance. At Potsdam, she worked as an Events Marketing Coordinator in the Office of Campus Life.

“One of the division’s strategic initiatives for this fiscal year is to grow our accessory business, and Matt has the right combination of experience and marketing acumen to help achieve this goal,” said Roger Eaton, Director of Marketing, Band & Orchestral Division. “The division will also benefit from the marketing skills that Hallie brings to the company, including strong research and analytic abilities.”
