The Music People, a division of Jam Industries USA, LLC, is excited to announce that company co-president Sharon Hennessey has been named a 2021 She Rocks Awards recipient.
Held annually during The NAMM Show, the She Rocks Awards is hosted by the Women’s International Music Network (WiMN) founded in 2012, and celebrates women who are leaders in the music industry.
This year’s ceremony will be held virtually in conjunction with NAMM’s Believe in Music Week at 6:30 p.m. PT on Friday, Jan. 22. Open to the public, the evening will include virtual live performances, awards and speeches, and a silent auction. Fellow 2021 She Rocks Award recipients include Heart’s Nancy Wilson, The Go-Go’s, Evanescence’s Amy Lee, Grammy award-winning recording engineer Ann Mincieli and more.
“This is a special one, to not only be honored and recognized by my peers for doing what I love and all I’ve ever known, but to be included in this group of amazing women is an honor — congratulations to you all,” Hennessey said. “Seeing more and more women enter our industry and taking on leadership roles has truly been inspiring.”
Hennessey has served as co-president at The Music People alongside her brother John since 1989. During her tenure, she has helped the company grow from 17 employees to 84, played an integral role in the creation of its overseas division and developed strategic relationships within the MI industry.
