Porter & Davies has appointed Jimmie Dean to VP of Sales and Marketing in the U.S. Dean has been a well-known face and personality in the music community for more than 25 years, working with some of the oldest drum shops in the U.S. During this time, he has not only worked with retailers, such as Percussion Specialties, Tommy’s and Rupp’s Drum Shops, but he was also a department head for Mars Music. He has been involved in the growth of the music scene in Austin TX, playing with such acts as Guy Forsyth and the Asylum Street Spankers. Between 2004 and 2009, Dean worked as Government Relations/Communications Director for the Texas Cultural Trust and Rocky Mountain Farmers Union. This year, Dean has begun working with Porter & Davies, focusing on its U.S.-based operations, and continues to play with the bands Ten Pound Elephant and Slow Car Crash.
