Mapex Drums has announced a new partnership with Boston-based drummer and creator Jimmy Pemberton. Pemberton will play Mapex drums exclusively and collaborate with Mapex on future ventures. To kick things off, Mapex is strongly supporting Pemberton’s Benny Beats animated series, currently in development with Studio71. Benny Beats is a kid’s cartoon following drummer Benny Beats and his band as they explore the adventures of growing up and playing music.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Jimmy Pemberton,” said Jerry Goldenson, president of KHS America. “We fully share his vision and drive for exposing the joy of playing music to a much wider audience. Jimmy’s abundance of creativity teamed with his business acumen is something very special.”
“I’m super excited for this opportunity! The team at Mapex really understands what I’m about, not only as a drummer, but as a creator. I’m excited to collaborate with them across the board,” added Pemberton.
As co-founder of music-tech startup Lesson Squad, Pemberton participated in Harvard iLab Venture Incubation Program in 2018. In addition to over a decade of experience as a live performer and private music educator, Pemberton is also an annual speaker at colleges, including Berklee College of Music. In working on Benny Beats, Jimmy has teamed with Jeremy Gold (artist manager at Starstruck Entertainment) and Reverb Advisors.
