TMP Pro Distribution, a division of The Music People, Inc., the maker of On-Stage products, has welcomed back James Mingo as National Accounts Manager. He’s rejoined TMP after a nearly two-year absence. Mingo brings more than 20 years of AV experience to TMP Pro. His expertise ranges from installation to retail sales to live sound engineering. His music and sound career started in Atlanta GA, where he worked as a Sales Associate at Rhythm City: one of the largest independent music retail superstores. He began his mixing career at the same time, mixing for some of the best regional musicians at live music festivals. Since then, his career has grown to include positions as an independent sound engineer and as a system technician. During his previous stint at TMP, he earned The Retailer’s 2012 Music & Sound Award for Representative of the Year.
Mingo returns to TMP after serving as Sales Director at a leading AV systems integrator. His responsibilities included estimating, final commissioning and testing for a number of large-scale AV projects at venues such as casinos, universities and theatres. This experience further honed Mingo’s technical skills, especially in wireless and video, and it deepened his insight into the install side of the sound business.
