Hal Leonard MI Products Distribution is adding Innovative Percussion to its lineup of drum companies. Based in Nashville, Tenn., Innovative Percussion is a premier percussion products manufacturer for the school and drum competition markets. This news was jointly presented by Innovative Percussion, CEO George Barrett and Hal Leonard vice president MI Products, Brad Smith.
From mallets and drumsticks, to brushes and beaters, Innovative Percussion works with performers, composers and educators to support a large student body. The company’s products are used with marching ensembles, drumset artists, classical percussionists, percussion ensembles, entertainment ensembles and collegiate educators. They are especially well-entrenched with the Drum and Bugle Corps, DCI, and WGI groups.
“Innovative is very wired and attentive to a specialized segment of the music product business,” Brad Smith said. “With our reach to the school market and our broad lines of complimentary drum products, we expect to create more opportunities to build more business.”
Hal Leonard also has plans to release the next generation TrapKATs and two new e-kits under the KAT Percussion brand. Rounding out these expansions in the drum category, Hal Leonard is now distributing the World Percussion and Classroom Percussion series from Remo, along with cymbal packs from Paiste. Those packs now include the famed 2002 series.
