On October 9, as previously reported by The Music & Sound Retailer, a data center fire caused an outage of service for Pro-Active Websites and Cutting-Edge Solutions. Bill Walzak, CEO and President, commented, “Immediately after the recovery, our staff studied enormous amounts of research on where and how leading financial and commodity markets house their data. As a result, we have moved into two of the nation’s premier mission-critical data centers, enhanced all our server hardware and software within multiple locations, and installed new fail-safe resources.”
Walzak stated, “We reached an agreement with one of the world’s largest data centers. At 1,133,739 square feet, it is also among the most telecom-connected and secure facilities of its kind. We now have data housed within this facility, which is literally an informational fortress for the digital economy.” The huge, industrial-strength infrastructure includes four fiber vaults and three electric power feeds, which provide the building with more than 100 megawatts of power. It is currently the second-largest power customer for Commonwealth Edison, trailing only Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. The grid power is supported by more than 50 generators throughout the building, which are fueled by multiple 30,000-gallon tanks of diesel fuel.
Walzak added, “We are thoroughly dedicated to providing our customers with the very best eCommerce experience possible, and the move to these amazing, state-of-the-art data centers will deliver the most secure and reliable service to our customers anywhere.”
