The Midwest Clinic, scheduled to take place from Dec. 16-19 in Chicago, has been canceled due to concerns about COVID-19, the organization announced on June 25. The organization posted the following on its website, presented in its entirety.
“Dear Midwest Clinic Supporters,
After careful consideration and thorough research, the board of directors of The Midwest Clinic has reluctantly but unanimously agreed that a live, in-person Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic cannot be scheduled as planned, December 16-19, 2020. This decision was reached with the safety and well-being of the performers, attendees, exhibitors, staff and volunteers as our top priority. Our most heartfelt appreciation goes out to all the countless individuals that make the Midwest Clinic the premiere music conference in the world.
Although we share in the disappointment of the thousands of Midwest participants, the board and staff are already planning an exciting alternative to the on-site conference. An announcement will be made soon about the content of the 2020 Midwest Clinic, an experience that is sure to be rewarding for all.
Board of Directors and Staff
The Midwest Clinic”
