The National Association of School Music Dealers (NASMD) has issued the following declaration:
“Based on the latest guidance from the CDC and local officials, your NASMD Board of Directors feels it is in the best interests of our attendees to cancel our 2020 Convention and the March 25 Day of Service. The health and safety of our membership is of the highest importance, and we feel, based on the rapidly evolving situation, that this is the responsible course of action.
We were really looking forward to another phenomenal convention. The board had put together an exceptional program, and the support from our sponsors has been outstanding, as always.
The NASMD office will send an email out within the next few days with more information on canceling hotel rooms and registration. Please do not contact the Vinoy Renaissance Hotel at this time. If you made reservations through the hotel block, they will be canceled for you. If you booked at another hotel, please take care of that reservation. You are responsible for changing your own flight reservations as well.
We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused, and thank you for your support and understanding. The show will go on next year and we will set our sights on Puerto Rico in 2021!”
