Yamaha Drums, one of the longest-standing partners of the Monterey Jazz Festival, provided drum sets for all eight stages at the 55th anniversary of the event. Held annually at the 20-acre Monterey Fairgrounds, the festival featured performances by some of the biggest names in jazz, including several Yamaha artists. Yamaha provided eight drum sets, including Maple Custom Absolute, Birch Custom Absolute, Club Custom and Stage Custom Birch. The company also brought along extra bass drums and tom toms to accommodate any configuration request. Yamaha Drums artists appearing at the festival included Marcus Randolph with Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Antonio Sanchez & Migration (also appearing with Pat Metheny Unity Band), Pedrito Martinez Group and Ray Brinker with Tierney Sutton.
