KMC Music invited 13 of its top drum and percussion retailers from across the country to participate in a hands-on presentation with representatives from Gretsch Drums, Gibraltar Hardware, Latin Percussion, Toca Percussion, KAT Percussion and Sabian. Across two days on March 20 and 21 at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas, the group had opportunities to speak directly with KMC Brand Managers to provide feedback on everything from product development to pricing. As a small thanks to everyone who attended, KMC invited surprise guest—and Gretsch artist—Cindy Blackman-Santana to perform and meet with the attendees.
“It was a true learning experience to have the many years of experience of guys like Gary Forkum, Steve Maxwell and others in one room at the same time,” said James Tsaptsinos, VP of Sales for KMC Music. “This is the first time we have been able to round up the top percussion dealers in the country and interact with all of the KMC percussion brands. We gained invaluable information about product development, marketing and tools needed to further the success of Gretsch, Gibraltar, LP, Toca, KAT and Sabian.”
“The dialogue at this event was candid, insightful and immediate. Our top dealers, particularly our Round Badge dealers, are who they are because they are passionate about the Gretsch brand and emotionally invested in it,” said John Palmer, Director of Product for Gretsch Drums. “The discussion with these top-tier dealers was illuminating and helps keep our market perspectives in balance.”
