It’s been a pretty good year for Dietze Music, which has multiple locations in Nebraska. Not only has it survived its big summer move from its 73-year-old location in downtown Lincoln, but it’s also recently been honored with the 2013 “Nebraska Retailer of the Year” distinction. The honor was bestowed at the Nebraska Retail Federation award banquet. The news was covered in the local newspaper, the Lincoln Journal Star, as well. “The combination of their long Nebraska history, their dedication to music education for young people, their ability to adapt to rapid changes in the retail industry and the expansion to five stores in Lincoln, Omaha and Bellevue made them a hands-down winner,” the Nebraska Retail Federation was quoted as having said. “Dietze Music has established a model of success for local brick-and-mortar retailers to follow in these high-tech times, where local retailers are competing with the world in an unfair market online.”
