On, June 21, D’Addario will participating at multiple events across New York City in celebration of Make Music Day, a free celebration of music around the world.

D’Addario will be participating in the following events: Street Studio created by Found Sound Nation; Mass Appeal Bucket Drumming; Mass Appeal Guitars; The MP3 Experiment with Improv Everywhere

Street Studio created by Found Sound Nation — 899 Bergen Street – Brooklyn — Noon to 4 p.m.

Producers invite passersby from the community to join in a completely improvised recording session. At the end of the day, producers use the material recorded on-site to create one track and share the sounds of their city with the world. Everyone is welcome to stop by the courtyard outside Berg’n to play, participate and join in the fun.

Mass Appeal Bucket Drumming — Pearl Street Triangle — Brooklyn, NY — 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Using buckets and drumsticks provided by Promark by D’Addario, learn to create grooves from rock, hip-hop, reggae and more in the interactive performance. Not a drummer? No problem! Professional drum-set player Jessie Nelson, alongside professional percussionist Shelby Belzinger-McCay, will offer tips and lead the jam.

Mass Appeal Guitars  Union Square Park — 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Come join over 200 guitarists for a free lesson and jam in Union Square Park and stop by the D’Addario tent for a chance to learn more about and sample D’Addario Fretted & Accessories products. Representatives from Guitar Center will also be on hand to restring your guitar!

MP3 Experiment #15 — Brooklyn Bridge Park, Harbor View Lawn, Pier 1 — 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mp3 Experiments are free, participatory audio adventures created by Improve Everywhere. Attendees download a smartphone app and listen to synchronized secret instructions in a public space via headphones.

Last June 21, over 3,000 people came to New York’s Battery Park and made music together with Bookwhackers. This year’s experiment, once again part of Make Music New York, will be in Brooklyn Bridge Park, with a secret musical item generously donated to the first 1,000 participants by D’Addario to use in the event.

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21. It began 36 years ago in France and is now held on the same day in more than 800 cities in 120 countries. Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part.
