This January, Breedlove Guitars, based in Bend, Ore., celebrates the 30th anniversary of bringing its first instrument to market, a Western red cedar and highly figured koa C-1. Unveiled at The NAMM Show in 1991, that guitar now sits on display at Breedlove headquarters, reminding craftspeople every day of the brand’s three-decade history.
To honor the milestone, throughout 2021, Breedlove will issue four limited edition guitars, each celebrating a defining model. Each of these guitars will be updated with ongoing Breedlove features like sustainable, clear-cut free tonewoods, soft cutaways, hand-voicing and sound optimization.
The first, a 30th Anniversary Northwest Classic, will be unveiled at the company’s virtual VIP Winter Show Pregame Event, taking place from Jan. 11–12, in anticipation of Believe in Music Week.
