Sam Ash Music recently brought Texas native Cesar Soto, guitarist from Ministry, home to their San Antonio and Dallas TX stores to host two up-close clinics. Soto shared his stories from the road with Ministry, as well as discussed the importance of tone and getting the most out of your amps. “Cesar was a true professional. Humble and personal with all the attendees, answering all questions posed of him,” shared Todd Walker, General Manager of the San Antonio store. “He gave great advice on how to set your amp, as well as playing techniques that have helped him throughout his career.” Soto, a Blackstar Amplification artist demonstrated the bone-crushing Blackstar Series One 200 Watt half-stack and played some classic Ministry songs.
“The message these clinics send are very positive and I hope I can impact a younger generation of guitar players out there the way I was impacted at a younger age,” shared Soto. “I think it’s extremely important for fans to be able to connect with the artist on a personal level,” added Soto.
“Cesar was indeed a pleasure to have here, he showed his audience all the subtle changes you can make with a Blackstar Amp to bring out all the ‘voices’,” stated Jon Johansen, Ash’s Southwest Regional Manager. “One of the comments he made was about people who forget about the ‘clean channel’ and how much it can add. That got the attention of several people to be sure! We can’t wait to have him back.”
