Kids, parents and music lovers of all ages banded together March 22 at The Anderson School (New York NY) for a day of music making at VH1 Save the Music’s Family Day. The annual event welcomes the public to a day of interactive workshops, instrument discovery zones, performances and activities that encourage kids to strum along, keep the beat and have some fun while making music. NAMM’s Mass Appeal fellow, Amy Garapic, led an enthusiastic crowd in five hours of lively drumming.
Hosted by VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live” host Nick Lachey, Family Day gave participants the chance to meet and greet musicians and play guitars, keyboards, drums and other instruments.
The VH1 Save the Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music-education programs in America’s public schools and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.
