Following the release of the STL Tonality Howard Benson Guitar Plug-In Suite in 2018, STL Tones is launching the Chris Lord-Alge “Tones From the Mix” preset pack to complement the expansive plug-in.

The mixes from five-time GRAMMY-award-winning producer/engineer/mixer and musician Chris Lord-Alge have been part of the music scene for decades. Lord-Alge is known for collaborating with Howard Benson, who has produced the plurality of the albums Lord-Alge has mixed.

Lord-Alge’s dynamic and distinctive tones have been meticulously captured through this collection of analog gear in a preset pack for a VST/AU/AAX plug-in and standalone version that gives guitarists and musicians a fully mixed, hit-ready guitar sound, stated the company. The preset pack consists of 64 presets; 20 artist presets from the albums Benson, Plotnikoff and Lord-Alge have worked on; 14 bass presets; and 30 presets Lord-Alge made directly inside the Tonality plug-in.

“So why did I get involved with STL Tonality? Well, that’s a simple answer: because my partners in crime, Mike Plotnikoff and Howard Benson — we’ve done many projects together — approached me about taking this plug-in further with my piece of the puzzle, and as with anything they do, I opened up my ears and listened,” Lord-Alge said. “Once I checked the plug-in out and saw what it could do, and actually heard what it could do, that’s what made me interested, because I make all my decisions based on how something sounds.”

“This is the first time where the Benson, Plotnikoff [and] Lord-Alge trio is involved with something digital, creating a plug-in for everyone that will give the user the chance to actually get the sounds they grew up listening to, the sounds they hear now on the radio and actually feel like they’re getting those sounds from the DI.” he added, “and that to me is amazing. So here I am now, I’m part of the trilogy.”

The STL Tonality Howard Benson Guitar Plug-in Suite is compatible with all major 32- and 64-bit audio hosts, including standalone options on both Mac and Windows. For audio and video demos, visit www.stltones.com
