Fishman has hired musical industry veteran Keith Chapman to the newly created post of Product Strategist. Formerly Senior Vice President of Research and Development for Fender, Chapman will be responsible for product strategies at Fishman, including enhancing new product development methodologies, new product conceptualization, advanced technology research and assisting with artist relations. Chapman earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University, has worked as an aerodynamics research faculty member at Arizona State University and as an Instrumentation Engineer for NASA Dryden Flight Research Center (now known as the Armstrong Flight Center).
A musician who started playing guitar at the age of nine, he held many multi-discipline engineering positions at Fender with increasing responsibilities over 18 years, and has worked closely with top industry artists such as Eddie Van Halen, Geddy Lee, Buddy Guy, The Edge, and Dweezil Zappa.
