Premier Builders Guild, a group of U.S.-based boutique guitar and amplifier brands, has announced that industry veteran Chris Fleming has joined the company as its new VP of Design, Development and Sourcing. In his new role, Fleming will oversee all new product development efforts within the company, as well as develop new resources for all products and ensure top quality standards.

Fleming, formerly Chief Engineer/Senior Master Builder at Fender Musical Instruments Corp. (FMIC), will bring his 15-plus years’ experience to work for PBG’s family of brands. His impact on the guitar market is substantial, including design and engineering contributions to most modern Fender offerings, as well as those of Jackson, Gretsch and Guild. Prior to his career at Fender, Fleming worked as a repairman at the renowned World of Strings in Long Beach CA.

“Chris’ instruments are all about soul,” said PBG’s President, Brian Swerdfeger. “He’s a player’s player, and artists, players, collectors and dealers all love Chris’ work. We’re excited to put his tremendous talent and gifts to work for our unique family of master-built brands so we can continue to bring dealers and players some of the finest handcrafted instruments in the world.”

“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and passion for high-quality guitars and amplifiers to Premier Builders Guild and helping to create excellent new products for both players and collectors,” said Fleming.
