When our editorial staff surveys you, our loyal readers, each year about what features and types of coverage you most highly value, one message is consistently conveyed: you absolutely love reading about the super cool new products that our industry’s manufacturers dream up. That’s one reason why, twice a year, The Retailer brings you our trade-show-centered product round-ups: the “New Product Spotlight.” With Summer NAMM occurring this month—indeed, it is quite probable that you’re reading these words while traversing the gorgeous Music City Center in Nashville—we focus exclusively on companies that are exhibiting at the show.
Here, you will find nearly three dozen offerings from Summer NAMM exhibitors. Most are product debuts, but some are a bit off the beaten track: for example, programs and opportunities that exhibiting companies seek to showcase. This underscores the breadth of what’s on offer at Summer NAMM each year…a point I sought to make in last month’s cover story, “It’s Where The Cool Kids Go.”
If you’re on site in Nashville, be sure to stop by all the booths referenced here. Then, stop by #818 to see us at The Retailer!

CruzTOOLS’ GrooveTech Soundhole Wrenches
CruzTOOLS is offering its first product aimed exclusively at acoustic guitars. Many acoustic guitar manufacturers locate the truss rod nut inside the body at the neck’s base. Therefore, adjustment is necessary through the sound hole, sometimes through a brace to an unseen nut, making normal hex wrenches impractical. So, CruzTOOLS developed its GrooveTech Soundhole Wrenches. The hex blade was extended for improved access, and a ball-end tip eases fit into the truss rod nut. Finally, a screwdriver-type handle provides confident adjustment and avoidance of damage to the finish. The blade and tip are made to precision tolerances using a professional-grade material. Two sizes are available—four millimeter and five millimeter—to address most makes and models of acoustic guitars. GrooveTech Soundhole Wrenches carry a street price of $12.95.
