NAMM Show Plans Exciting Enhancements

With the 2013 NAMM show opening in mere months, the National Association of Music Merchants has announced new features that will make the show an even better place to connect with the music product, instrument, pro-light and audio world. In an effort to make attending NAMM completely hassle-free and to open up more space in the convention center, registration will move out of the lobby and into surrounding hotels. Now, people attending NAMM can check in, pick up their badge and beeline it straight into the show. With the show now extending to the outer glass doors, entrances to the halls will be open and there will be fewer ID checks once inside the convention center. The open lobby will play host to an exclusive Member Center, digital media hub, new product showcases and more.

“NAMM members tell us that the show is a critically important part of their business strategy,” said Joe Lamond, President and CEO of NAMM. “These changes and new features are designed to help our members have a productive and fun time while they are in Anaheim.”
Lighting, touring and sound will take center stage in The Venue, as these categories take over an actual venue, The Arena at the Anaheim Convention Center, for the 2013 NAMM Show. The Venue’s dimmed overhead lighting and tall ceilings will allow lighting and entertainment technology products truly to shine as the concert experience comes to life at NAMM.

The new Grand Plaza is under construction now, but will be fully completed in time for the NAMM show. The plaza, which runs between the Hilton and Marriott leading to the main entrance of the Anaheim Convention Center, will set an outdoor stage for live music throughout the day and a place for members to network.

Registration opened for attendees on October 3. (For exhibitors, it’s October 12 and for media it’s October 18.) Exhibit space is still available for the 2013 event. The NAMM show will run January 24 to 27 in Anaheim CA.
